New Delhi [India], September 22 (ANI): India has the strongest growth outlook among the geographies covered by the World Economic Forum's latest survey, with 74 per cent of chief economists expecting strong or very strong growth over the next 12 months, according to the WEF's September 2026 Chief Economists' Outlook.
“India continues to have the strongest growth outlook among the geographies covered in the survey,” the report said.
Overall, 98 per cent of chief economists surveyed expect moderate or stronger growth in India over the next 12 months. The share expecting strong or very strong growth has risen to 74 per cent from 52 per cent in May, indicating a sharp improvement in sentiment towards the Indian economy.
The survey placed India marginally ahead of South-East Asia, where 73 per cent of respondents expect strong or very strong growth.
The positive growth outlook is also reflected in expectations for household incomes. Around 62 per cent of chief economists expect inflation-adjusted household incomes in India to increase over the next year, including 7 per cent who expect a significant increase.
